WOUNDED WARRIORS ARRIVING to the Central Coast
for
AMPSURF’S –  “Wine, Waves and Beyond – Surf Clinic in Pismo Beach”

Dana Cummings of AmpSurf has requested Welcome Home Military Heroes
to be present upon the arrival of Wounded Warriors coming to participate in his clinic.
These men and women made the choice to serve our country and we want to
HONOR them when they arrive to SLO County!
Many wounded warriors never received a “Welcome” from the community when they came home.
Let’s show them a sea of Red, White & Blue, along with cheers and appreciation.
AmpSurf is kicking off its 10th year of teaching veterans and those with disabilities the healing power of  surfing.
Volunteers are needed and can sign up to help at this event on their website www.ampsurf.org

Founders Honored in Pismo Beach

Cheryl & Robert Tolan are presented the Congressional Honor by Congresswomen Louis Capps

Memorial Day is a reminder not all troops can be welcomed home. But a local couple is being honored for their tireless work to make sure those who are, get a hero’s welcome. Cheryl and Robert Tolan’s organization, “Welcome Home Military Heroes”, meets at local airports to welcome and thank the military men and women. They’ve welcomed home more than 300 men and women. On Monday, they were recognized by Congresswoman Lois Capps for their work . “Anyone coming home here were, we wanted them to know that we appreciate what they’re doing, their choice to serve and that we’re praying for them,” said Cheryl Tolan of Arroyo Grande. REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY & BBQ – 26 MAY

A “Remembrance” Ceremony/BBQ was held today, Saturday, May 26th  at the American Legion  Post 56 / Veterans Hall at 501 North Pine Street, Santa Maria.  We had a great ceremony, chicken BBQ, raffle items galore,  and silent auction.

But most importantly, we had a time to Honor and Reflect on all of the men and women that have paid the ultimate price in protecting this country and the freedoms that we enjoy each and every day.

The proceeds of this event will go to LOCAL troops via  Welcome Home Military Heroes & Military Parents and Friends.  This is the last fundraiser  on behalf of our Queen Candidate Tawni Stoneburner,  as the rodeo starts next week!  Queen Tawni Stoneburner choose Welcome Home Military Heroes and Military Parents & Friends, as her two charities for her fund-raising efforts.
